We are Joe and Janie, the folks behind the camera!

A little about us? We are hopeless romantics, lovers of coffee and wine, and spend our days in the beautiful chaos of raising our 4 little humans! Some days are more beautiful than others, but we do our best to find the joy in every day.

Our photography story and our love story are intrinsically woven together.

A life long passion for photography and a love for adventure led Janie to study in Hawaii. While spending hours editing photos in the local coffee shop, Janie caught the eye of the cute American barista Joe, who loved her Aussie accent! A few “complimentary” lattes led to a date, which led to a long distance relationship (after Janie moved back to Australia), which led to a wedding in Hawaii, which led to our first baby on the way, which led to a move to Australia.

Janie had a successful professional photography business with the support of Joe in Hawaii after they tied the knot. Joe always had a passion for hobby videography, fuelling his passion for photography and learning everything possible from Janie as her 2nd shooter.

Since moving to Australia in 2016 (now with 4 kiddies in total!) we officially decided to embark on Lake Folk Photography in 2023 as a joint husband/wife venture! We feel so blessed to work together and capture beautiful family moments in stunning, creative ways!
